What does the Hadlokas Neiros bracha mean?
With this bracha, we thank Hashem for making us holy through His mitzvos and for commanding us to light candles in honor of Shabbos. The candles bring light, peace, and shalom bayis into the home as Shabbos begins.
What prayer do we say after lighting Shabbat candles?
What does the Hadlokas Neiros tefillah mean?
After lighting the Shabbos candles, many women daven for their families. The tefillah asks Hashem to bless her family and all of Klal Yisrael with good, long lives and to let His Presence dwell in the home.
