Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a Chanukah timer helpful?

Many people have the custom of spending time near the Chanukah lights, using this special time to thank Hashem, daven, and sing together. A 30-minute Chanukah timer provides a beautiful way to keep track of this meaningful and auspicious time. Place it beside your menorah as a reminder to pause, daven, thank Hashem, and appreciate the miracle and light of Chanukah.

What are the words to Haneiros Hallalu?

Haneiros Hallalu is said after lighting the menorah:

Both Chanukah Brachos clocks include Haneiros Hallalu alongside the brachos, in nusach Ashkenaz / Sefard.

What does Haneiros Hallalu mean?

Haneiros Hallalu is said after lighting and explains why we light: to remember the miracles, wonders, and salvations Hashem performed for our Forefathers through the Kohanim in the days of Chanukah. It also declares that the lights are holy for all eight days. We may not use them for any practical purpose, only look at them, and through them thank and praise Hashem for His miracles.

Should I choose a sand timer or a Brachos clock?

The 30-minute sand timer is a simple, decorative way to mark 30 minutes after lighting. A Chanukah Brachos clock combines the Chanukah brachos and a clock in one elegant display, so these useful pieces sit together beside your menorah.

Which nusach are the Chanukah Brachos clocks available in?

The Chanukah Brachos clocks are available in nusach Ashkenaz / Sefard. Check each product listing for the exact brachos text and nusach before ordering.

Will a Chanukah timer match my other Chanukah pieces?

Yes. The Classic 2.0 Chanukah Brachos Clock is designed to coordinate with other Classic 2.0 Chanukah pieces. Choose a gold or silver finish to complement your menorah, menorah tray, and other Chanukah tabletop décor.

Does a Chanukah timer make a good Hanukkah gift?

Yes. A Chanukah timer or Chanukah Brachos clock makes a practical and original Jewish Hanukkah gift, especially for someone who already has a menorah.
