What is a Havdalah plate?

A Havdalah plate is a tray that holds everything used for Havdalah on Motzei Shabbos: the cup, the besamim, and the Havdalah candle. It keeps the setup together in one place and protects the table during the brachos.

What does the Havdalah text say?

After the opening pesukim, four brachos are recited:

What do the Havdalah brachos mean?

Havdalah marks the end of Shabbos with brachos over wine, fragrant spices, and the light of a candle with several wicks. The final bracha praises Hashem for creating distinctions: between holy and ordinary, light and darkness, Klal Yisrael and the nations, and Shabbos and the six weekdays.

Why use a Havdalah plate?

Many have the custom to fill the Havdalah cup until it overflows, as a sign of bracha for the coming week, and to put out the candle in the wine at the end. A Havdalah plate catches the spills and wax drips, keeping your table clean.

What size Havdalah plate should I choose?

The 6" x 10" plates (Basic, Painted Basic, and Pearlstone Basic) are a compact option for a smaller setup. The 10" x 10" plates (Traditional, Classic 2.0, Onyx, Painted Gold, and Painted Black) have room for a full Havdalah set. Check each listing for exact dimensions.
