Ushpizin is Aramaic for guests — the same word behind the Hebrew ushpiz, a lodging host. The name captures the custom's heart: the sukkah is a temporary home whose honor comes from who is welcomed inside.
The custom is to recite it upon entering the sukkah or at the very start of the evening meal, before Kiddush in many homes. Having the text on the wall or standing on the table means the moment is never skipped in the bustle of serving.

The Ushpizin sukkah decorations are Lucite and vinyl panels that hang on the sukkah wall, sold singly or in coordinated sets. The Ushpizin cards and tabletop plaques are displayed on table where the invitation is actually read.
Most sukkos carry a few texts together — a Bruchim Habaim greeting guests at the entrance, a Mizrach marking east toward Yerushalayim, and Kiddush, Netilas Lulav or Shivas Haminim panels.
