Frequently Asked Questions

What text is on the Painted Havdalah Tray Set with Drawer?
It features the full Havdalah text: the opening pesukim, beginning with הִנֵּה קֵל יְשׁוּעָתִי, followed by the four Havdalah brachos: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֱלֹקֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, בּוֹרֵא פְּרִי הַגָּפֶן.

What pesukim are said at the beginning of Havdalah?

What does the Havdalah text mean?
Havdalah begins with pesukim expressing our trust in Hashem as our strength and salvation and our hope that He will answer us when we call upon Him. They speak of the joy, gladness, and honor associated with Hashem's salvation and express our hope for His continued protection and blessing. We then recite brachos over wine and fragrant spices, followed by the blessing over the light of a candle with multiple wicks. The final bracha praises Hashem for creating distinctions between holy and ordinary, light and darkness, Klal Yisrael and the nations, and Shabbos and the six weekdays.
