Shipping
Most orders ship within 1-2 business days, but please allow up to 4 business days for us to verify and process your order. Please allow an additional 1-3 business days for delivery in the tri-states, and 3-7 days for delivery on the west coast. If you need something by a specific date, please be sure to select express shipping so we can guarantee a rushed shipping time. During holiday seasons, there is a one week cut-off order date before the holiday. Orders placed after the cut-off time are not guaranteed, however we do try our best to ship them right away.
Exchange Policy
If your Waterdale purchase does not entirely meet your satisfaction, we will gladly issue a store credit for any returned merchandise. You have 20 days from when you receive your package to start an exchange. Please email info@waterdalecollection.com with your order number to start the exchange process. Exchanges need to be approved and sent back with an RMA. Exchanges sent back without an RMA will not be processed. Once the package is received, our warehouse will process the return, and you will be notified via email with your credit code.
If your items arrives damaged, please email info@waterdalecollection.com within 20 days so we can process a replacement.
Please note return shipping is at the buyers expense.
Shipping will not be refunded from your original order.
Custom, seasonal, clearance, and discounted items are not valid for exchange.
Items must be in the original condition with all films and packaging intact.

How Do I Order A Family Tree?

After checkout, email rikki@waterdalecollection.com to receive a spreadsheet for submitting your names.
How Much Do The Leaves Cost?
- You attach them yourself: $8.25 per leaf (leaves come with adhesive backing)
- We attach the leaves for you: $12.25 per leaf
What Should I Write on the Leaves?
Most people choose to write first names in Hebrew, using full names rather than nicknames. However, you can also choose English or nicknames - it's completely up to you.
How Many Names Can Fit on a Leaf?
Each leaf can fit up to 3 names. This refers to the names a person was given - whether at birth or later in life - such as all of their Hebrew names. For example: חיים יהושע מאיר would count as one leaf.

At this time, we can only include names on the leaves.
How Do You Know Where to Place My Leaves?
If we are attaching the leaves for you, we follow your completed spreadsheet exactly and send you a proof for approval before attaching anything.
If you are placing the leaves yourself, we recommend first laying out all the leaves on the tree without removing the adhesive backing. As you plan the layout, keep in mind future spouses, children, and grandchildren who may be added down the line. Once you are happy with the arrangement, then peel off the adhesive backing and adhere each leaf to the tree.
Can I See a Mockup Before Production Starts?
Yes. You will receive a proof of your leaves before the file is sent to production to ensure everything is correct.
What Is the $150 Add-On?
This upgrade includes 3D die-cut gold lettering, which can feature your family name, a custom pasuk, or any phrase of your choosing - placed at the top or bottom of the tree.
Does the Painting Come with "Ilan Ilan" Lettering?
Some trees include the words "אילן אילן" already printed as part of the design (this is a flat metallic print, not 3D). Check the description of your specific family tree to see if your design already includes it. You can always upgrade to 3D die-cut lettering on any tree - including trees that already have the words printed flat. The 3D version adds a beautiful dimensional effect that stands out from the surface.
What Is the $18 Round Plaque Add-On?
A circular plaque on the trunk featuring:
- Parents' names (e.g., "Totty & Mommy"), or
- Your family name
Can I Add Leaves Later?
Yes! Additional leaves can be ordered at any time.
Can Leaves Be Removed or Moved?
We don't recommend it, but if needed, leaves can be carefully removed using a razor or knife.
How Are Leaves Attached?
Each leaf has adhesive backing - just peel and stick. If you ordered the self-attach option, we recommend planning your full layout before removing any backing (see:How Do You Know Where to Place My Leaves?).
How Many Leaves Fit on a Tree?
- Small sizes: up to ~100 leaves
- Large sizes: up to ~175 leaves
For more than 175 leaves, we recommend ordering a custom size larger than 36×48. Production time for custom sizes is 12–16 weeks. Contact rikki@waterdalecollection.com for more information.
What Is the Turnaround Time?
Most family trees are completed within 8–12 business days. If you need your family tree sooner, rush processing options are available for an additional fee.
Can I Customize Colors or the Tree Design?
Our family trees are stocked designs, so colors and styles cannot be changed. For custom sizes, slight color and design adjustments may be available for an additional design fee.
What If I Make a Mistake on My Spreadsheet?
You can make changes to your spreadsheet and proof until the file is sent to production. Once production begins, changes cannot be made, so please review your proof carefully before approving.
Are the Family Trees Hand-Painted?
The designs are custom-created for Waterdale, but they are not hand-painted directly onto the lucite. They are printed on lucite with a gold foil texture, giving a beautiful hand-painted look.
How Do I Hang My Painting?
Your order includes mounting screws, hardware, and hanging instructions.
Can I Get a Bulk Discount for a Large Family?
Unfortunately, we do not offer bulk discounts, as each leaf is a custom piece.
What Size Should I Order?
This depends on how many names you plan to include now and in the future. As a general guide:
- Smaller trees hold up to ~100 leaves
- Larger trees hold up to ~175 leaves
If your family is large or growing, it's always better to size up - you can never add too much space, but running out of room is hard to fix. When in doubt, reach out to rikki@waterdalecollection.com for a personalized recommendation.
Can I Order Just Leaves Without a Tree?
Yes! If you already have a tree and need to add new family members, you can order additional leaves at any time.
