Benchers (also spelled bentchers) are small booklets or cards with Birchas Hamazon (ברכת המזון), the Grace After Meals recited after eating a meal with bread. Many benchers also include Shabbos zemiros. A bencher set pairs a set of benchers with a matching holder for the table. For Birchas Hamazon wall art and plaques, see our Birchas Hamazon collection.
Start with the bencher holder that suits your table: a tabletop holder, a floral vase centerpiece, or a silverware caddy that keeps benchers and cutlery together. Then choose between Lucite and faux leather benchers, standard or mini sizes, and decide whether you want zemiros included.
Lucite (acrylic) benchers are water-resistant and easy to wipe clean, making them a practical choice for the Shabbos and Yom Tov table. They’re durable, lightweight, and have a clean, modern look that lasts for years.

Benching, or Birchas Hamazon, is made up of four main brachos. The first, thanking Hashem for feeding the whole world, was composed by Moshe Rabbeinu. The second, thanking Hashem for Eretz Yisrael, was composed by Yehoshua. The third, asking for the rebuilding of Yerushalayim, was composed by Dovid Hamelech and his son Shlomo Hamelech. The fourth, praising Hashem Who is good and does good, was added later by Chazal.
