The vibrant colors of the simanim sit most comfortably against gold, ivory, and marble neutrals. Keep the palette to two or three colors plus a single metal, and let the pomegranate motif be the element that repeats. Adding a fourth color is usually what tips a pomegranate table from rich into busy.
Pearl marble refers to the pale, softly veined finish set into clear Lucite on pieces like the Simanim plaque and honey dish, where resin is typically cast as a solid material throughout, giving it a deeper, higher-contrast look. The difference is both visual and structural: pearl marble lightens a table with an accent of stone-look detail, while resin grounds it with a fully stone-like piece.
They carry the pomegranate motif out to each seat, which is what stops the theme from being confined to the center of the table. Set the napkin ring on the charger rather than beside the cutlery so it reads at a glance. Rolled napkins hold their shape inside a rigid ring better than flat-folded ones.
Much of it can. The pomegranate is one of the seven species, not a Rosh Hashanah–only symbol, so pieces like napkin rings and chargers carry over naturally to a shivas haminim–themed Sukkos table and year-round Shabbos use. Honey dishes carry over too, since the custom of dipping challah in honey continues through Sukkos.
Both Simanim plaques and Simanim cards carry the same yehi ratzon text for the symbolic Jewish New Year foods. The difference is how they sit on the table — A Simanim plaque has a freestanding base built in and stands upright on its own as a single centerpiece, while a Simanim card is flat: it can lie at each place setting, or stand upright if you add a separate Lucite base.
